Translate a passage

一本の道の上を、ゆっくり歩いたり、すばやく駆け抜けたり、何人かで一緒に渡ってみたり。その道を行き来する私たちの姿が、そのときの体の動きに似た文字へと変換される。普段のささいな動きが文字として映し出されるとき、動きに潜む感情の動きや、その人にしかないしぐさがみえてくるかもしれない。
本作は、道行く私たちの歩きを「翻訳」し、そこにある一節を読み解くあそびの提案である。

One can amble on, swiftly run through, or attempt to traverse this singular path alongside others—as their ways of moving back and forth along the passage are converted into letters that resemble the body’s motions. When subtle, everyday movements are projected as letters, they may reveal shifting emotions hidden within physical movement, as well as mannerisms unique to each individual.
By “translating” the act of walking, this work serves as an invitation to playfully decode each passage that takes place.
